Getting Carrier Appointments in Florida Is Hard. We Make It Simple.

If you have recently passed your 2-20 or 4-40 exam, you already know the frustration: carriers want production history you do not have yet, networks like SIAA charge $20,000 upfront and require three years of experience, and captive agencies lock you into one carrier's products with no flexibility to serve your clients.

Bright Coast Insurance was built by agents who lived through that same struggle. We appoint licensed agents with access to our carrier relationships — so you can write commercial lines business in Florida from day one, without the gatekeeping. Our focus is the Florida contractor market: roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and general contractors who need workers' comp, general liability, and commercial auto fast.

Whether you are a brand-new licensee who cannot get a direct appointment, a captive agent who wants the freedom to offer clients the best option instead of the only option, or a bilingual producer ready to tap into Florida's underserved Spanish-speaking contractor market — there is a place for you here.

Our Specialty

Florida Contractors Insurance — A Market Built for Independent Agents

Florida's contractor market is one of the largest and most active commercial insurance segments in the country. Roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, general contractors, and concrete workers all need workers' comp, general liability, and commercial auto — and they need it fast. A missed certificate of insurance means a missed job start.

When you join Bright Coast, you are not starting from zero. You step into a proven niche with established carrier relationships, a deep knowledge base on Florida workers' comp class codes and experience mods, and a reputation built on same-day certificates of insurance. Our agent portal is built around the speed this market demands.

Workers' comp for roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and GCs
General liability for all Florida contractor trades
Commercial auto for contractor fleets
BOP and umbrella for growing contractor businesses
Same-day COI issuance — our standard, not an exception
Spanish-language tools for the Latino contractor market

Common Questions

Do I need prior commercial lines experience to join?+
Not necessarily. If you hold an active Florida 2-20 or 4-40 license and are committed to building a commercial lines book, we will train you on the contractor niche — class codes, audit defense, COI workflows, and carrier markets. Experienced producers are also welcome.
Are there production minimums or franchise fees?+
We do not charge upfront franchise fees to join. We do not impose strict production minimums to start. We are looking for agents who are serious about building a book in the Florida contractor market — not agents who feel pressured to write bad risks to hit a quota.
What carriers will I be appointed with?+
Our carrier access covers workers' compensation, general liability, commercial auto, BOP, and umbrella for Florida contractors. Specific carrier appointments are discussed during onboarding based on your target market and license type.
Can I keep my existing personal lines book?+
Yes. Our focus is commercial lines — specifically Florida contractors. Your existing personal lines relationships remain yours. Many agents use Bright Coast as their commercial lines home while maintaining their personal lines elsewhere.
Do you support bilingual agents?+
Absolutely. Florida's Spanish-speaking contractor market is one of the most underserved segments in the state. We have Spanish-language tools, landing pages, and support built into our platform. Bilingual agents have a significant competitive advantage here.
What is the difference between a 2-20 and 4-40 license for this opportunity?+
A 2-20 (General Lines Agent) license allows you to sell, solicit, and negotiate property and casualty insurance independently. A 4-40 (Customer Representative) license allows you to service accounts under the supervision of a licensed agent. Both can participate in our program, though 2-20 holders have broader independent authority.
How quickly can I start writing business?+
Most agents complete onboarding within one to two weeks. After carrier appointments are confirmed and you are familiar with our systems, you can begin quoting and binding commercial lines coverage immediately.
